The Tennessee Titans suffered a difficult 27-24 defeat to the Cleveland Browns at Nissan Stadium after a field goal on the final play.

The loss came one week after Tennessee earned its first victory of the 2026 season, making the setback especially frustrating for a team hoping to build momentum.

Tennessee opened the game with a 14-0 lead behind two early touchdown runs by Tony Pollard.

Yet the Titans could not take full advantage of other first-half chances, including a possession near the Browns’ goal line that ended without points.

Cleveland eventually gained control, though Tennessee fought back late.

With less than a minute remaining, Pollard scored from a yard out to finish an 11-play drive and tie the game at 24.

The Browns quickly moved into field-goal range, and Andre Szmyt connected from 32 yards to decide the contest as time expired.

Pollard finished with 129 rushing yards and three touchdowns, while quarterback Cam Ward completed 20 of 31 passes for 181 yards.

The Titans dropped to 1-6 and were left to examine missed opportunities on both sides of the ball.

For local fans, the most painful part may be how close the finish looked after the late touchdown.

A dramatic comeback was not enough to protect the home field.
