The massive travel center is expected to bring hundreds of jobs and become a new landmark for travelers along Interstate 24. One of the country's most recognizable travel center brands continues moving closer to Middle Tennessee, as plans for a Buc-ee's location in Murfreesboro remain on track.
The new travel center is planned near the intersection of Interstate 24 and Joe B. Jackson Parkway, a location that serves thousands of commuters and travelers each day. Once completed, it will become the closest Buc-ee's to the Nashville area, making it a convenient stop for residents traveling toward Chattanooga, Atlanta, and destinations farther south.
The Murfreesboro location is expected to span approximately 74,000 square feet, making it one of the largest convenience stores in the region. Plans call for around 120 fueling stations, a spacious retail area, fresh food offerings, and the clean restrooms that have become one of the company's best-known trademarks.
Beyond serving travelers, the project is expected to have a meaningful economic impact on Rutherford County. Company officials have said the location will create more than 250 full-time jobs, offering competitive wages and benefits while generating additional business activity for the surrounding area.
Buc-ee's has developed a loyal following throughout the South by combining the convenience of a traditional travel stop with an extensive selection of fresh barbecue, baked goods, sandwiches, snacks, beverages, gifts, and locally inspired merchandise. Many travelers make the stores a destination in themselves, often planning road trips around a Buc-ee's visit.
The arrival of the new travel center also reflects Murfreesboro's continued growth. As one of Tennessee's fastest-growing communities, the city continues to attract major retailers, restaurants, employers, and new residential development, strengthening its role as a regional hub for commerce and transportation.
Construction continues to move forward, with the Murfreesboro location expected to open in 2026. Once complete, it will provide Middle Tennessee residents with a new stop for fuel, food, and travel essentials while adding another major destination along one of the state's busiest interstate corridors. |
