Danielle Gaw has returned to the Nashville Sounds as general manager, becoming the first woman to hold that role in the club’s 49-year history.

The appointment brings a familiar executive back to First Horizon Park after experience elsewhere in sports and entertainment.

Gaw previously spent 11 seasons with the Sounds from 2014 through 2024, most recently serving as vice president of corporate partnerships.

She subsequently held partnership roles with Athletes Unlimited and Opry Entertainment Group.

The club’s updated front-office biography identifies her October 2026 return as a milestone in its leadership history.

The Sounds also named Doug Scopel chief operating officer.

Scopel joined the organization as an intern in 2000 and advanced through several positions.

He will oversee day-to-day operations for the club and First Horizon Park.

His previous work included serving as a point person during the planning and development of the ballpark, which opened in 2015.

These are front-office leadership changes, rather than appointments to the on-field coaching staff.

For fans, the news concerns the business and operational leadership behind their visits to the ballpark.

The appointments combine continuity within the organization with experience Gaw gained outside it.

Her return also provides a local example of a woman taking a senior leadership position in professional baseball.

The next season will give fans a chance to see the organization’s plans take shape.

The announcements themselves do not establish changes to ticket prices, promotions, or game-day services; those details should be checked as the club releases them.
